A charming vintage brooch, crafted from 9ct yellow gold, and adorned with an old cut diamond and pearls.
The diamond is an antique Old Brilliant Cut Diamond, originally mined and cut pre-1930. Old Cuts have slightly different proportions to the modern brilliant cut, with a deeper crown and flat cullet. It would have been shaped and faceted without the modern technology the diamond industry relies on today, making an old cut diamond something to admire.
Measuring 47mm x 17mm, the brooch fastens with sturdy pin. There is no hallmark on this piece which is expected for jewellery from this age, but we have tested the gold and our team of goldsmiths and valuers agree that it is 9ct carat gold.
This vintage brooch is part of our pre-owned collection and has been lightly cleaned to maintain the patina and fully checked and tested so you can buy with confidence from Gold Arts.
