Exceptionally rare and precious, these natural saltwater pearls, would have been discovered by divers searching for wild oysters for this prized gem.

A natural pearl occurs by chance with no interference by man, which is what differentiates them from a cultured pearl. Natural pearls are rarely seen for sale, as it is now illegal to harvest wild oysters, so necklaces such as this, are truly special as only antique pieces are available.

This heirloom necklace features pearls of graduating size from the tiny 1mm spacer pearls that sit between the larger 2-5.5mm pearls. Each pearl enjoys an individual shape known as 'semi-baroque' with a lovely ivory white colour, beautiful lustre and shimmering orient. The necklace measures 16 inches and the pearls have been verified by AnchorCert Gem Lab, as natural saltwater, rather than cultured or fresh-water pearls.  The certificate will be included with the pearls as your guarantee of authenticity.

The 18ct gold push-in marquise shape antique clasp has 6 little rose-cut diamond chips with a round old-cut diamond in the centre.  It is lovely to see an antique clasp used with these antique pearls.

This necklace is part of our pre-owned collection, which we restore back to good condition by gently cleansing the pearls and polishing the clasp to its original shine. We use a reputable restringing service to restring the pearls on natural silk, so you can enjoy many years of wear.
