A stunning pre-owned vintage engagement ring, with a superb quality fancy colour antique old cut diamond, set in an 18ct yellow gold ring.

The diamond is an antique Old Brilliant Cut Diamond, originally mined and cut pre-1930.   Old Cuts have slightly different proportions to the modern brilliant cut, with a deeper crown and flat cullet.  It would have been shaped and faceted without the modern technology the diamond industry relies on today, making each old cut diamond unique and something to admire.

The carat weight for this diamond is calculated to 0.98ct, with a diameter of 6mm.  This unique diamond is not your typical white colour you see in engagement rings, as it has a fancy colour of light brown, sometimes termed cinnamon. It is wonderfully clear diamond inside, with almost no inclusions, and assessed as VVS clarity.  This gives the gem a dazzling sparkle, with fire and brilliance set against the light brown tint.

The mount is 18ct yellow gold, tested by our goldsmith, but un-hallmarked, as often found with antique rings.  The white gold collet is beautifully carved, with an 6-claw setting in excellent condition.
