The Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox is one of the most iconic alarm wristwatches ever created, combining mid-century elegance with ingenious functionality. Launched in the 1950s, the Memovox – “the voice of memory” – quickly became a symbol of refined practicality, offering a built-in mechanical alarm for the busy modern gentleman.
This 1950s example, presented in very good condition, features a 34mm 18k yellow gold case, a patina’d dial with applied 18k Arabic numerals and arrow indices, and its original acrylic crystal. It is powered by the manual-wind Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre P489/1, one of the maison’s most celebrated early alarm movements. Complete with its original box, this watch captures the golden era of Swiss watchmaking and holds significant appeal for vintage collectors.
