Crafted entirely in 18k rose gold, this sculptural timepiece features the distinctive asymmetric tonneau-shaped case, seamlessly flowing into a high-polish La Doña bracelet with concealed butterfly clasp. The Teaked Sunburst dial showcases Roman numeral markers, classic Cartier sword hands, and a sapphire crystal – all signature hallmarks of the Maison's timeless elegance.
In the golden age of cinema, María Félix—known as La Doña—was Mexico’s most iconic actress. Fierce, bold, and unapologetically glamorous, she captivated the world with her commanding presence. So magnetic was her style that Cartier designed not one but two crocodile necklaces for her in the 1970s—crafted from real crocodile moulds, encrusted with precious stones.
La Doña de Cartier, launched in 2006, is a timepiece inspired by that same daring elegance. The asymmetrical, curvaceous case mirrors the bold angles of Félix’s famous crocodile jewels and her avant-garde spirit. Cartier called it "the watch of a woman with strong character". Discontinued shortly after its release, the La Doña is now a highly collectible cult classic.
