This vintage fob is beautifully crafted from yellow gold. The oval seal is carnelian, with banded semi-translucent shades of orange.
Fob jewellery would have originally been a decorative element to a gentleman’s pocket watch and chain. The idea of a stone set seal, dates back to ancient times, and would have been engraved with a monogram for sealing the wax on important documents.
This pre-owned fob has a small loop bail, and is perfect for wearing on a chain as a pendant or small enough to add to a vintage inspired charm bracelet . It measures 25mm x 16mm x 14mm and has been expertly polished to recondition the gold.
The fob carries a UK hallmark for 9ct gold, which dates it to 1971, weight 4.4g
