Created in 1930 by René Lalique, the sparrow sculpture and its Rose Nebula luster herald and embrace a new era, in a world where the boundaries between the real and the virtual are becoming blurred.

The Inspiration

In its perpetual quest for beauty, Lalique’s artistic creation reaffirms its audacity by lustering its crystal in a dreamlike and surprising multi-dimensional pink: the Rose Nebula. At the doors of a new imagination at the crossroads of the real and the virtual, the name «Rose Nebula» evokes the evanescence surrounding the long pink luster process realized under the watchful eye of Lalique’s master glassmakers.

The Lustre Technique

To obtain the perfect shade of pink of the collection Iconics Rose Nebula collection, a luster mist, made from precious metals including yellow gold, is subtly sprayed on. After this delicate, precise application, the piece is annealed in an oven, where the magic happens: the gold particles in the mixture are activated by the heat, and the clear crystal takes on a Vaporous Pink hue, Rose Nebula.
