The Zenith Defy El Primero 21 Ref. 95.9002.9004 is a striking high-frequency automatic chronograph, combining Zenith’s contemporary Defy design with the technically impressive El Primero 9004 movement.
This pre-owned example is presented in good overall condition, with slight scratches visible across the titanium case consistent with previous wear. The watch retains its distinctive and highly technical appearance, highlighted by its blue openworked skeleton dial and lightweight titanium construction.
The defining feature of the Defy El Primero 21 is its 1/100th-of-a-second chronograph, powered by Zenith’s innovative dual-escapement architecture. The timekeeping mechanism operates at 5Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour), while the dedicated chronograph mechanism operates at an extraordinary 50Hz (360,000 vibrations per hour).
The openworked dial displays hours and minutes centrally, with small seconds at 9 o’clock, a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, a 60-second counter at 6 o’clock and a chronograph power-reserve indication at 12 o’clock.
The watch features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment and a transparent sapphire caseback, offering views of the El Primero 9004 movement. Water resistance is rated at 100 metres.
