This is a beautiful example of the intricate fob jewellery which would have originally formed a decorative element to a gentleman’s pocket watch and chain. This fob dating from the Victorian/Edwardian period is the Key that would have adorned a vintage pocket watch chain and been used daily to wind the precious pocket watch. Today, it is a lovely example of Victorian/Edwardian craftmanship, which can be worn as decorative pendant to suit modern tastes. Crafted from Rolled Gold, the key is set with panels of deep orange Cornelian and Bloodstone of dark green flecked with red. The fob is in good original condition, with expert polishing to recondition the metal. An Albert Swivel Clasp has been added to make this gorgeous piece of jewellery suitable for the modern wearer, as it will sit beautifully on a standard necklace chain or clipped to other jewellery. This would make a wonderfully unusual key gift for an 18th or 21st Birthday, that could be worn on a necklace or simply as a keepsake. The pendant measures 79mm x 26mm x 9mm and weighs 13.9 grams.
