Introducing the new Freelancer David Bowie special edition timepiece, limited to just 3,000 pieces worldwide. In collaboration with the David Bowie Estate, Raymond Weil pays homage to the legendary musician. The Limited-Edition Freelancer ‘David Bowie’, is a tribute to the life and musical career of one of the most influential artists of all time. Created to celebrate what would have been Bowie’s 70th birthday. This special edition timepiece is dedicated to a few of the many personas created by David Bowie, an artist with unparalleled creativity, a singular visionary, a man of a thousand faces and voices. Raymond Weil presents the Freelancer David Bowie, a tribute to Bowie’s love of art and which depicts three of his most iconic personas using intricate watchmaking techniques resulting in a true masterpiece. The 42mm Stainless-Steel watch is presented on a black calf leather strap with coordinating red stitching and a stainless steel folding clasp. A scratch resistant sapphire crystal with antiglare treatment gives a clear view of the unique dial. The dial is a black galvanic vinyl which is adorned with a red lightening bolt at 12 o’clock. The lightening bolt was commissioned by Bowie during the Aladine Zane era and became one of his most iconic features of the imaginary character. The red pop art ‘Bowie’ logo designed by Andy Warhol for the diamond dog’s album is positioned prominently on the dial. The dial is completed with barrel shaped hands, lined with luminescent treatment and silver indices with a chapter ring encircling the dial. The case back also features a sapphire crystal glass with double-sided anti-glare treatment, adorned with a portrait of David Bowie. Taken during Bowie’s Thin White Duke era by Terry O’Neil, who also played a significant role in the design of this unique watch. The David Bowie Limited Edition Freelancer 2731-STC-BOW01 is water resistant to 100 metres and the automatic movement, RW4200 has a power reserve of 38 hours. All Raymond Weil watches come with a 2 year warranty.
