This exquisite pendant is a twinkling masterpiece of the Victorian / Edwardian era, where the skill of the goldsmith and an eye for detail allows this Antique Pendant to be as wearable today, as the day it was originally crafted. The breath-taking central stone is an antique Old Brilliant Cut Diamond, which would have been mined and cut in the Late Victorian/Edwardian period. The Old-Cut Diamond has an impressive carat weight of 1.50ct, with a diameter of 7.4mm and assessed as I/J Colour and VS Clarity. Encircling the central stone are diamond set floral inspired designs, with twinkling foliage all neat and symmetrical. Skilfully set in a combination of Claw, Grain and Rub-over settings, the diamonds fill every available space and have an impressive 2.46ct total diamond weight. The Old Cut Round Diamonds have been assessed as H/I colour and Si clarity. The Diamond Trilogy Bail is suitable for any chain with a maximum diameter of 2.5mm. The total carat weight for the whole pendant is 3.96ct. Part of the joy of Antique jewellery, is researching and testing. This pendant did not have any markings to indicate the metals used, so we sent it to Goldsmith’s Hall Assay Office for testing. The official letter, which we will gladly include with the pendant reveals the back and bail is crafted from Gold, using a purity a fraction higher than modern 9ct gold. The large centre diamond has been set in Gold, close to modern 18ct gold and the small diamond settings are crafted from Silver, at a purity of 998, higher than the modern standard of Sterling Silver at 925. Victorian Jewellery often used Silver, a metal chosen to complement the white of the diamonds, which with careful restoration by our in-house workshop is beautifully bright, and will complement any modern jewellery you choose to wear. Gold Arts is delighted to offer such an exquisite piece of antique jewellery, in superb condition, a true example of “quality never goes out of fashion” Dimensions: 43mm x 33mm x 6mm; weight: 8.5 grams, Stock reference OGA 321 / 00003675
